Belt up!

Read through Clove Two. It’s part of The Star newspaper. There was this article that caught my eyes. Actually there were many other articles which were very interesting to read about. But you can check it out yourself. The article I was interested has got to do with fashion…and it is BELT!! The article was written by Wendy Lee. I never know how to match certain type of belt with my clothing. Besides I don’t have many belts at all. >__<

There are 4 types of belt (according to the writer).

1. Skinny belt: The super skinny type of belt. Said to look great on slim women.
2. Medium belt: Wearable for any occasion and types of figures. I think that would be the normal belt.
3. Wide belt: The BOLD and dramatic which not really suitable for work. Well this is the on going craze for this type of belt.
4. Patterned belt: Printed, woven or embellished belts.

How to wear them?
1. For those with short torso and thick waist:
- Medium and wide belts below the navel is able to draw away the eyes from the abdomen. It’s true that it makes your torso looks a little longer meaning a little slimmer. I did wonder doesn’t wide belt make the torso looks bigger and giving the illusion that you have a bigger tummy? Hmmm…if you imagine for a while, it doesn’t. I kind of hides your flaws. But don’t wear contrasting belt and bottom. BIG NO NO!!

2. For skinny and body shape of rectangular:
That’s me! Hahaha. The writer mention tying the belt high around the waist. It gives hourglassy look and sensuous silhouette. Hehehe. She mentioned that wide belt must be wore under ribcage but to be wore with fluid dress meaning the flowy type and masculine tailored shirts.

3. To wear on top of your clothes and match it well:
You have to wear a longer top that covers about ¼ of your butt. Belt and top colour should not be the same. This is to allow the belt to look prominent.

4. The in-wide belt:
To wear them high on waist. Gives an image of longer legs and a long line that can be satisfying.

Here is the summarized from the article. But you can read it here! There are many great articles to read.

Hope I learn something from the tip. >__<
