However this CNY would be somehow like last year condition. Last year was sad and doesnt have the CNY feeling at all. Sigh.

Christmas-y feeling.

Which colour would make the best theme for Christmas celebration?
Yellow? Red? Orange?
Here is the yellowish white christmas tree! The interior. It's the centre count area.
More deco from Pavilion. Here is an almost white Christmas tree.Red is pretty colour too! Let me proof it to you.
It does have a bit of circus feeling don't you think? The red and yellow cloth draping down like that always give me the circus feel. The Christmas deco is taken in Sunway Pyramid.
Christmas is not complete with candies specially the candy sticks and also cute soft toys.Unfortunately, I don't have Midvalley or KLCC or Gardens Christmas deco pictures to share. By the way I love Midvalley deco the best. Go and check it out! Have a very Merry Christmas! For me will be a working day. >__<

Me Needs A Bag!

Christmas is around the corner! Yipee! But not so yipee coz I've been searching high and low for a very special bag! A bag of my DREAM!

I've asked a long Mr White Rabbit to come along with me to hunt for my favourite bag. Before that let me introduce my very special Mr White Rabbit.Ain't he good looking? He suggested to ask good old Santa. But I was wondering where to find Santa during this peak season. Mr White Rabbit told me not to worry has he knows where to find Santa.Hmmm...when I saw Santa, I was very surprised. He is one VERY LONG LEGGED Santa. Reminds me of Daddy Long Legs the cartoon. There is a very cute tiny snowman hanging around his leg. I asked Santa: 'Oh Mr Santa! Can you please tell me where to look for my dream bag?' Mr Santa said: 'HO HO HO! Merry Christmas my dear little girl! A dream bag? Have you been a good girl lately? I paused for awhile. Good girl? Why must he asked that? How how!? Am I going to lose my dream bag if I said no? I replied timidly: 'Yes, sir.' I guess Santa was pretty kind and asked me to go under the Christmas and looked for a tag with my name on it. In there I'll find mydream bag. I was SUPER exicted and dashed towards the huge Christmas tree.
I was so excited and kept searching for my name but after an hour of looking under the tree I was starting to feel tired and upset. Mr White Rabbit was pretty upset too.

We went back to Santa to find him but he had disappeared along with the snowman. Mr White Rabbit told me he knows another Santa. I was getting skeptical. How many Santas are there in this world? I followed him to find the next Santa.

This Santa seriously looked more like the Santa we all knew since young. He was roundish and chubby with short legs unliked the long legged Santa.
Mr White Rabbit told him the story the Mr Santa. Santa asked us to go to the Wonderland Christmas tree and I will be able to find my dream bag. I seriously want my BAG!!This tree really looks like it popped out from Alice in the Wonderland during Xmas time. Suddenly I heard a whisper. 'PSsst! Over hear!'I turned to my right and saw this card whispering at me. I think it's the King of Heart. The King of Heart told me to jot this very special instruction down! I immediately wrote it and dash back home with Mr White Rabbit following very closing behind and looking a little surprised.Immediately I turned on my PC and typed in the magic site. And when I saw the site I couldn't believe it with my own eyes! There it was! My dream bag! I found it! I finally FOUND my dream bag! Me solemnly swear me needs a bag from www.alicewonders.com.

Another one leaving

Update: Pictures uploaded! Pictures are not very clear and taken using a sony hp.

Today, I had lunch Pavilion with 3 other friends. The lunch was to bid farewell to a colleague. Had lunch at Tony Roma’s. Service there was good. Food (set lunch) was ok. Nothing special about the food there. I had fish & chips while my other 3 friends had marinated chicken grilled. Dessert was TR avalanche…such a nice name huh…but it was 2 scopes of vanilla ice cream with chocolate brownie. It’s yummy though.
TR avalanche
Ordering set lunch, you get a bottomless soft drink. I couldn’t finish my fries…by the way there wasn’t any chips. Hehehe. Should be name fish & fries instead. Hahaha. The is also soup of the day (beef and vegetable) but my other three friends didn’t want and requested for mushroom and potato soup. In the soup there was a huge chunk of potato and the soup taste pretty much like Campbell. >__<
Yuk Ling, Me, Soo Ming & Poh Ling

Poh Ling, Yuk Ling & me.

We did take pictures but will only be uploaded next week. Now my throat is showing signs…thanks to the fries. Maybe should telan another strepsil extra strong.

Leaving

I can’t FB in office anymore.. SAD!! I can’t play my dragon!! SAD!! This shows I’m a addict! DANG! I’ll be cured!

Yesterday we (6 other colleagues and I) had a farewell lunch at a Chinese Restaurant (next to Wong Kor Char Chan Teng) with a senior. Food is okie. Dessert is yummy-lious!! It looks too posh to get in there but the price is reasonable. Her last day is today! I used to be under her guidance for two months before moving to my new working place. She is a very smiley girl. But it’s pretty stressful working under her. Hehehehe. But it’s a sad thing she is leaving us to a different company for a different exposure. All the best to her!
Next Monday, another friend of my will be leaving the company. Sigh! So many people leaving. Sad!

It’s going to rain! It’s getting cold again. Not like it’s not cold everyday.

Zongzi...slurp!!

What the heck is that? It’s also known as glutinous dumpling. The Chinese call it ‘Zong’ or ‘Zongzi’. A traditional Chinese food made of glutinous rice stuffed with different yummy-licious fillings and wrapped with bamboo leaves. Cooked either by boiling or steaming.

This Sunday, 8/6/2008 is Zongzi festival. According to the history, zongzi is eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival which falls on fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar, commemorating to the death of Qu Yuan, a famous Chinese poet. He was from the kingdom of Chu during the Warring States period. Famously known for his patriotism. He failed to warn his king and countrymen about the expansion of their Qin neighbours. When the Qin Dynasty took over the Chu capital in 278BC, he was very unhappy and took his own life by drowning in Miluo river after penning the ‘Lament for Ying.’ Now here is the role of zongzi. Zongzi were thrown into river to prevent fish from eating the poet’s body. Hmmmm… More like contaminating the river. Ignore my comment yah. >_<

My granny will be making the Nyonya zongzi. I’m so used to calling it Nyonya Zhang. Zhang is actually a pronunciation in teochew dialect. Then I hope my granny will be making Kee Zhang. Actually known as ‘Jianshui zong’, the glutinous is treated with lye water (aqueous calcium hydroxide) which gives the rice a light yellow colour. You can’t put too much of the lye water because it will make the rice hard. Then you will be eating stone instead. My granny’s nyonya zhang is whitish in colour. Usually other dumpling looks a bit of light brown due to the dark sauce is mixed together when preparing the rice. Different dumping from different dialect have different fillings.

Can’t wait to eat them. Oh yeah, by the way zer, you can’t get to eat zhang! Hehehe..I think yan will be able to eat. Evil me!

Cikgu cikgu!

Today is Teacher’s Day!

Faster grab your mobile phone to text or call to wish your primary, secondary, college, form 6, matriculation & uni teachers.

Any teacher you really dislike or adore?

This morning as I was listening to Flyfm, there was this caller saying that he failed F5 5 times just to stay back in that school. The reason was that his school have many HOT teachers! As far as I can remember, my primary, secondary or F6 teachers were pretty biasa sahaja. :P

And there was this caller, he called his teacher to make a confession. A confession saying she have a great leg!! Another caller called to tell that he had a crush on his English teacher. His English teacher was being great and gave him extra class in her house. In the end, he married his English teacher’s daughter.

Do you all have any interesting stories?

I was once a teacher’s pet during my kindergarten and primary 1 & 2. She knew my mommy. My mommy’s friend. Her name is Puan Lee Kah Hoi. ( Crap..I don’t remember her name…but pronunciation is something like that.)

There is another teacher we gave a nickname: ET. I guess anyone from the same school as me during the primary will know him. Hehehe. And he married a teacher from the same school too. Her name is BBQ. Ehehehe. We are so mean. Giving names to teachers. But I think it’s pretty mild. :P

Well I just want to wish all teachers: HAPPY TEACHER’S DAY!

Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is this 9th May 2008. A Sunday. It always fall on the 2nd week of Sunday.

Doing anything special for your mom or grandmother or aunties? All of them are female. Hehehe.

It’s the day where we as the child honour our mothers.
Did you know that Mother’s Day is like celebrated the whole year? It is really like the whole year. Different countries have different dates and with certain date have a special meaning for celebrating Mother’s Day.

Some believe that this occasion started off from a custom of mother worship in ancient Greece.

Did you know that, UK & Ireland Mother’s Day is known as Mothering Sunday? Woah…Didn't know that at all. It falls on fourth Sunday of Lent (3 weeks before Easter Sunday). Believed to originate from 16th century Christian practice of visiting church annually. It’s the day where most mothers reunite with their children on that day.

Well for US, they celebrates Mother’s Day on the 2nd Sunday in May. I guess we followed them. For them, it was actually a call to unite woman against war. Okie..I don’t think we knew bout that. Did you know that in parts of US, it is traditional act to plant tomatoes outdoor after Mother’s Day and not before? Why tomato? In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson declared 1st national Mother’s day to honour the mother’s whose sons had died in war. That’s a sad thing. 9 years after that, it became commercialize. Then I guess that is how Mother’s day kind of slide of the track from the main purpose.

In most East Asia, Mother’s day is superly commercialized straight from USA.
Mother’s Day have been celebrated as early as in 2nd Sunday in February for Norway and as late as in 22nd December for Indonesia. Cool huh?

And and did you know that, Mongolia is the only country that celebrates Mother’s day twice a year?

But I guess we in Msia do celebrate Mother’s Day to really honour and remember for what our moms or grandmas or aunts have done for us.

Here I want to wish all mothers, grandmothers and aunts who have done so much for their children a very HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! Have a great one! All children, don’t forget to thank your mother for what they have done for you all these years.

Mother earth.

Did you know yesterday was Earth Day? On the 22th April 2008. I only knew that when I was listening to the radio.
Did you all do anything to make it worth while? Like not using the car but uses the public transport? Or try to use less paper?
I didn’t do much about anything. I’m always using the public transport. I recycle my papers in the office. That’s the only thing that I do. Oh another thing, you know the tissue papers have a few layers right? I always pull out the layers and not use everything in a go. Usually I’ll pass the extra and give it to my sister whenever we are out for dinner or lunch. Hehehe. A way of using less tissue. The best would be using handkerchief. Besides, I’m not a hanky type of girl. :)
Well, it’s really sad to see when people uses tissue paper like it’s free. Especially when you go to public toilets. I wonder how many rolls of papers are wasted to dry hands. And and…when air con is turn on to the full blast in office. Hello!! This is Malaysia..not UK. We don’t need freezing cold environment. Wasting electricity. SIGH!!
The list goes on and on. People please try to save. Not for you now but for our own future!

Relay.2.

Oops..bout the relay thingy. The next stop after Malaysia was Jakarta. They didn't have the relay for open public but they invited certain people to the special event. The running was done in a studium. Run five laps..the torch was off to Australia. Don't ask me what's the next stop. I don't have any idea.

Relay

22/4/08

The torch was lit on the 24th March 2008 in Greece by Maria Nafpliotou. Do you all know who am I referring to? What torch?

Well yesterday, the torch reached Malaysia. That’s the biggest hint! Don’t tell me you still can’t guess it. This is the second time Malaysia participated in the torch relay after 28 years of the BIG game! Ok ok…it’s the Olympic Games. I’m not counting the very first time this game started but from 1896. It’s every four years. This year the big game will be held in Beijing, China. China will be the 3rd country in Asian to hold this game. First is Japan then South Korea.

Actually Olympic has started way back in 776BC or some scholar said it was between 884BC & 704BC. Did you know that this game was for young men only? Bias huh? Well they have a reason..that’s because they compete in nude. WOAH!! Hehehe… It’s a celebration of the achievements of human body. Winners don’t get gold medal or $$$ but rewarded with crown of olive leaves back in the BC era. Olive branch meant sign of hope and peace. If they kept with the same winning price, do you think people will still participate in the Games? I wonder. Probably some will but I think majority will not. Since many people don’t see olive branch as a sign of hope and peace but a bundle of leaves that will wilt in a few days. RIGHT?!

And another did you know. Did you know that torch bearing was not included in the ancient Olympic Games? And same goes with the interconnecting rings. Only introduced in the modern Games. The 5 ring (white, red, blue, green, yellow & black) actually represent the each nation colour, that’s because at least some nation have one of the colour. See..so not bias at all. Hahahaha. The relay actually was intro in 1936. French & English is the official language of the Games. And and and there will be 28 sports to be running in the Beijing Olympic Games. Well you can actually find all this info in Wiki. Hehehe. I’m just stating the interesting fact of did you know.

I was really amazed that there were so many people participating in KL torch relay. SO MANY CHINESE from China came over to be part of it. I wonder if everyone knew bout this torch relay in KL. And I meant the Malaysians. You know how Malaysians can be pretty oblivious with such great event happening. KLCC was the last destination of the torch relay. I don’t know who are the runners that participated for Malaysia relay. The next stop for the torch to be is in Thailand. Right? Hehehe.

That’s all for my torch thingy for you all.

End of MArch

It's nearing the end of March. Damn fast. Two weeks back..don't really remember what happened during the weekdays except during the weekends. My sista..eldest..got married! Finally!! >__<>

My dad held a dinner for my sista in Muar. Not on the wedding day itself but a week earlier before the wedding day. Something that is usually done in the Chinese custom. But now, I don't think many people is doing it because it takes a lot of time and effort to do it. It was the first wedding for my family so...my dad needs to invite his FRIENDS to get back all his ang pows that he have so far given to all his friend's daugthers or sons wedding. But I don't think he got back his duit la...maybe for the dinner but not the alcohol coverage. The wedding was very chinese-sy la..hahaha..the typical chinese dinner.

Then last weekend...was THE DAY!! Was prettty exciting! We, the sisters...actually my 2nd sista came up with the plan how to "torture" the groom before he was able to step into the house to get his bride. But we were pretty nice people and didn't play over the line..well coz my granny was there..if we did that..sure kena tembak from her. The best part of the whole wedding was the arrival of the groom with his heng tai. Horns blaring from a distance before they reach our place and we the girl's side, are not suppose to greet them immediately and we are not allowed to see the arrival of the cars. The other best part was the tea ceremony....as in we the sisters giving our respect to him. Each of us gave him bowls (ranging from the biggest to the smallest from my 2nd sis to my youngest brother) of desserts soup. Wasn't that bad la..hahaha..

That day..we had quite a number of photographers..my younger sis, my 2nd sister, my younger bro with his tiny mobile phone, my cousin and my sister's personal photographer. My granny got quite angry when we snapped her picture but we told her that..nope we are not taking your picture la Ah Ma..we are taking the bride and groom. >__<>

After that, off we go to the groom's home in BP. The car I sat in..gosh..the driver..damn slow man!!!! THere were 4 cars including the bride's car plus 2 cars from my sister's side. The journey seem pretty long when we could actually arive BP in 40 minutes but they took 1 hr to reach. SLOW right!!!
Then..there is the tea ceremony again..then makan makan..then we balik Muar. Dinner was in BP. Restaurant setting is nice..food is okie...evertyhing was smooth. Seems simple but it was fun. Never attended a Chinese wedding before and it has been a great experience.
Can't wait for July. My 2nd sis is getting hitched. And her wedding is in KL!! Yeah..dont need to rush back to Muar. Her ROM will be in April..That's double happiness in my family!

Dong dong dong chiang!!

Okie..guess you all know what's my blog gonna be for today.

Been super busy with lots of stuffs..okie..not exactly that busy.

Last 2 weekends ago, been busy doing pineapple tarts and oat biscuits for my family members with the help of my sister. Friday evening right after work..off to Giant to get pineapples..back to my sis's place to prepare the pineapple jam. We started at 10pm..finished by 1am. We were super tired from stirring the jam in order to get the right colour. -__-. Not an easy job. Next morning, we started doing the tarts at 10am right till 6pm non stop. We made 5 batches of pineapple tarts. The final output were not too bad. I hope my QC will approve our skills. By the way, my QC is my granny. She have been making it for like 20 years. I salute her!! After the tarts, we continued with oat cookies. We even break for an hour to catch a tv series. hehehe.. >__< We ended up making the cookies till 2am. INSANE!

I got to get my butt of the chair now. Suppose to clean up my house. See you all around.

Have a GREAT CHINESE NEW YEAR!
May the year of RAT brings tremendous luck and happiness!

Any plans for 2008?

2007 is coming to an end.

2008 is like in 4 days.

Any plans for 2008? A whole new year waiting for us to explore and paint with interesting colours.

How was 2007 for u all? Mine is full with Ups and Downs.

Ups:
Extended a semester just to do 3 papers. Got to do stuffs that I never had the chance to do. Became a photographer for my sis. Moved out of the hostel and rented a place in a condo with 3 nice housemates.

I won a trip for 2 to Phuket. That was a great experience. The best moment was getting an elephant ride.

Had an amazing time with my sisters in Anime Convention. Spending time with my sisters is usually a rare moment. Had a spontaneous birthday celebration for my friends and my eldest sister. Spontaneous action is always the best. Everything is done with great effort. Had a wonderful time with my close friends eventhough we seldom meet up.

Graduating from Uni life is also another great moment for me. I still remember the joyous mood feeling up in me when I put down my pen for my last final exam paper. I was SO HAPPY! I felt the whole weight on my shoulder being lifted up. I gave a small shout of joy in the exam hall. I will always remember that moment.

Met a few interesting people from Facebook and Friendster. One of them became my crush.

Got into a relationship.

Done a few things that I didn't thought I would do in my life. I will not regret them at all.

Went to PD with my sister and colleagues and became an unofficial photographer. Had a time there. Done a few things which I wanted to do in my list to achieve. Went for flying fox, paintball game, horse riding and go-karting. I think the best part was to be a photographer...but later suffered aches on my thighs.

(BTW, I love taz)

Downs:

During my exam week, my close-love-one was giving me a difficult time. Was not answering calls from the person. I got so irritated whenever I see the number pop out on the screen. Was stressed out for a period of time. I snapped at my sister most of the time. Sorry.

Ended a relationship without feeling sad at that moment but the following day, I got so pissed off with the person and got a little depressed for a few days..probably for 2 weeks.

Felt the confusion when I got job offers. I was only on break for 2 weeks then I was asked to start in Dec. I didn't have the proper break during the 2 weeks. But in the end, I turned all of them down and accepted a job starting in Jan.

I think this year...I had a lots of mood swing. Not good.

Oh gosh..i very lari topic la. Was suppose to write on plans for 2008? But I'm babbling about my 2007 ups and downs.

I have a a list: What I want to do in 2008. Do you all come up with such things? Are you able to achieve everything listed in it? I have never really done this list thingy. I really want and hope to be able to tick off every item.

My list is pretty short. I don't want to put too many things and not able to do all of them. I want to go to Redang and Kuching or Sabah next year. I hope to do some jewelry made out of beads and sell them. Of course there are some stuffs but I'm not saying it. hehehe. *smiling shyly*

May 2008 be a beautiful year for all of you and to myself too. Hope 2008 will be a super lucky year too! *wink*

Falalalala..

Christmas is soooo near. Not that I'm celebrating Xmas. All shopping malls are decorated beautifully.

I love Midvaley's Xmas deco the most. Especially the Center court..the theme colour is orange-goldish colour..Reminds me of autumn. I saw 1U, Times Square, KLCC and Midvaley's decos. 1U: I love the Nutcracker deco. So adorable! Beside the humongous dolls can move. Times Square and KLCC decos are pretty normal. Just a very HUGE Xmas tree. Nothing special. Will be checking out Pavillion's deco tomorrow with my sisters after settling some stuffs.

Xmas deco in 1U.

Xmas deco in KLCC
(looks like I like balls.. >.<)

Looks like Xmas in Msia is celebrated by everyone. Everyone is in Xmas mood. Xmas songs are played in all the English radio stations. I felt that Xmas is celebrated grandly and merrier compared to other major celebrations like Raya, CNY and Diwali. Why? At first I didn't like that idea at all. Why make it such a big deal? But then, slowly the Xmas mood creep into me. I'm into Xmas now. haha..Weird huh? I think it's all because of the Xmas songs and the Xmas decos in the shopping mall. It's pretty. And gives the jolly and merry mood to everyone. Everytime I hear any Xmas songs, I will be humming to the songs and the songs will be stuck in my brain!! ARGGh! Besides..it's the year end sales!! >_<

Sales---> NOT GOOD!! Why? Make me spend and spend and spend! I'm going to be broke soon. Hahaha. I guess that is the major reason I'm in the Xmas mood. ^__^ It's nice to shop when everyone is in the shopping mood. I got all the stuffs I will be needing for next year at a lower price. So..i'm a happy happy girl. ^__^ See the happy Xmas mood is glowing in me now. ^__^

I wanna wish U ALL are very
MERRY HAPPY CHRISTMAS
and a beautiful
NEW YEAR!

May 2008 be a great and amazing year for all of you and of course myself too!
Hope you are able to fulfill your New Year resolutions!
